Of Note magazine

Of Note magazine provides a platform where art is not bounded or filtered by subject matter, medium or popularity but rather founded on empowerment activism, and social dialogue. The artists and artistic works featured in Of Note demonstrate a commitment to global citizenship and social change.  The mission, of this online publication is to increase participation and improve access to artists and artwork that celebrates people of color.

Indigo was more than happy to work with Of Note and organize their vast, extensive material allowing the variation of artwork and media to be experienced in an accessible and visually appealing way.  We worked with Of Note to develop an online newsletter that would create a clear visual impact and also allow email delivery to be compatible with most emails clients as well as webmail.

Throughout the newsletter readers are provided with the most current as well as previously featured news in art, photography, theater, and dance. Of Note views these art-forms as seamlessly connected. Indigo respected this viewpoint throughout the newsletter design navigating viewers directly from one art-form to the next, from artist to artist.

NJFPR Marketing Piece

December 18, 2008  |  Clients, Indigo Design, Marketing, Portfolio, Print  |  1 Comment

Conceptual Design, Creative Direction, XHTML, CSS, Flash, CMS

We love working with PR firms, and Nancy J. Friedman Public Relations is no exception. Known to their clients and loved ones as NJFPR (okay, maybe just their clients), this award-winning, full-service agency specializes in the travel, hospitality, and lifestyle industries. They’ve done some great work and their client list reads as a who’s who in the aforementioned industries.

When NJFPR asked us to create a “leave behind” marketing print piece, we jumped at the chance. After exploring a few concepts that spoke to their brand and core industries, we thought it would be interesting and fun to incorporate those door hangers that you see every time you stay in a hotel (eg. Do Not Disturb, Please Clean Room). The idea is for clients and potential clients to use them in their offices, thus becoming a constant reminder of NJFPR and their services.

Conceptual Design, Creative Direction, Flash, CMS

That’s right, Executive Chef Laurent Tourondel brings his successful BLT franchise to Las Vegas with BLT Burger. This latest addition (the original is in New York City) is Tourondel’s interpretation of the American burger joint and is housed in The Mirage. We have no doubt it will prove to be a great addition.

We’ve added info on the new Vegas location to the BLT Burger site and included pictures below. Warning: excessive staring may cause drooling.

Vertical Wine Bar Pasadena

Vertical Wine Bar Pasadena

Conceptual Design, Creative Direction, Flash, CMS

Serving over 400 wines from around the world, Vertical wine bar is a true destination in Old Town Pasadena.  With its traditional small plate bistro menu to compliment your each and every wine choice this destination required a site that would express its quaint, elegant nature, with a California modernity and flare.

The small plates menu at Vertical Wine Bistro were created by Chef Sara Levine and are presented alongside wine selections by Sommelier Scott Teruya.  Indigo and Vertical Wine Bar had a similar vision for a site in that it would be kept clean, balanced and unpretentious.  Balance was an emphasis in this project due to the nature of this wine bar in which food and wine are balanced not only in amount, but in flavor and presentation.  This notion of balance is well recognized througout the interior design of the bar as well.

Indigo achieved a balance within the website without compromising image presentation or clarity of information by organizing the site as a diptych wherein one panel uses flash animation to cleanly display the various attributes of the restaurant while clearly listing pertinent information about the establishment on the opposite panel.  The result is a website that in the simplicity of its layout, fully expresses the design characteristics and culinary goals which Vertical Wine Bar values as an identity.

Gibson's Group Chicago

Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse embodies the big city dining experience with big flavor steaks and chops, fresh fish daily, and enormous lobster tails—all matched with an extensive wine list. An evening out at Gibsons will include a fun and happening atmosphere with light entertainment, large portions of great food, and uncompromising service.

The Gibson’s Group of Chicago offers a multifaceted array of dining options.  In this project Indigo was given the challenge of developing each restaurant website design within it own unique characteristic.

From the unconventional interior of Frog Bar to the big Chi-town Steakhouse dining experience of Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse.  To the Neopolitan thin crust stone oven pizza complimented by quaint yet lively Italian character.  The variance in this project for Gibson Group Restaurants was no doubt extreme.  Indigo used flash animation in each website allowing all to be equally contemporary while unique in design.

Indigo captured the quaint Italian atmosphere of Quarintino was expressed by giving the website an endearing aged motif while focusing most heavily on presenting the food and interior of the restraunt throughout the website to give clients a complete sense of the atmosphere while they browse.  Frog Bar’s playful quirkiness was expressed throughout the site by incorporating flash elements not just in the images but in the logo and text as well.  Lastly,  Gibsons bar & Steakhouse’s website appearance was designed to feel heavier and darker in outfit with a classic steakhouse feel and much like in the design for Quarintino, images of the restaurant’s interior and menu are shown throughout using flash animation, familiarizing the client throughout their visit to the site.  The Gibson’s group envisioned the private dining sections of both Frog Bar and Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse as separate entities of the rest of the site reflecting the nature of private dining. Indigo used flash animation to achieve this and create a detailed visuals with movement and space to create a singular environment for this aspect of the site.
