The Golden Pheasant Inn approached Indigo with the problem of a site 15 years outdated and a need for an updated logo that would speak to the elegance and simplicity of the Restaurant/Inn and its’ philosophy.

New Golden Pheasant Splash Page

visit the site

Indigo worked with Golden Pheasant Inn to develop a site design reflecting the attributes and atmosphere of the Inn and its’ charming location. Indigo also equipped the Golden Pheasant Inn with with a CMS that fully accommodates and organizes news events, menu changes, and promotions for the Restaurant/Inn. Golden Pheasant Inn affiliates can take full advantage the ease in updating all site content completely independently. Indigo has created a temporary splash page on the Golden Pheasant Inn’s website location to offer information and manage bookings and reservations until the full site launch January 2012. http://www.goldenpheasant.com/

Indigo outfitted the Golden Pheasant Inn with a contemporary, simplified logo, emulating the distinguished intimacy and poise of the Inn. The color palette and silhouette are dignified while still very much approachable and inviting.

New Golden Pheasant Logo

Indigo designed and arranged additional layout sets of the Golden Pheasant Inn’s new logo for all affiliated items and apparel.

Designers are now welcome in the kitchen, and not just for plating. IKEA now offers an innovative cookbook “Homemade is Best” that makes the cut on our Holiday Gift list.

Inspired by high fashion and japanese minimalism this cookbook combines Cooking and Entertainment within 140 pages of baking ideas and instructions and design.

IKEA wisely reaches beyond kitchen appliances to the actual act of cooking using the same clever Swedish simplicity responsible for the needless to mention sweeping success of the brand.

The cook/coffee-table/design text is a response to the 90% of practically identical photographs taken in most baking books. This book presents recipes from a totally new angle.

Enjoy baking and flipping through the art of the ingredients with 30 classic swedish baking recipes everything from small biscuits to large cakes.

Soon to have additional locations in Portugal and Spain CountryBred offers full travel experiences within Piemonte, Lombardia, Emilia-Romagna, Le Marche, and Lazio; each with “unique stays” as intriguing as the regions themselves. Indigo worked with CountryBred to display the visual impact of these destinations throughout the site while incorporating the memorable branding.

Expanding on the title “CountryBred” Indigo designed a unique mark that encompasses the idea of bread markings, flight patterns reiterating the cutlural weaving that CountryBred provides.

The Indigo team has been a tremendous pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend them to anyone who has built sites in the past or is launching their first endeavor. Their creativity, professionalism and marketing collaboration has been world class. In addition, the online systems they employ to take you through the website development process have been the easiest we’ve worked with in the third website we’ve built!

Indigo faciltiated Countrybred’s client management system by suggesting Basecamp. The same project management system we use. CountryBred can manage traveler info while travelers upload photos, journal logs, or general notes. Indigo also provided Countrybred with a CMS to upload new content and latest European vacation destinations to the site.

While contemporary culture transitions to a world leaving less and less of an agenda behind for analog crafts, Typeface can still be considered the most active form of Folk Art. TYPEFACE, the documentary takes a moment educate the public/pay homage to the design and impact of Typeface along with the minds and hands responsible for the development of the thing.

As integral as written correspondence is within our overall communication system its no doubt that a very delicate, deliberate science and art make up its foundation.

When it comes to Typeface we are as aware as we are unaware of what creates harmony within any written content. Spacing between characters, words, sentences and paragraphs all hold a heavy impact on the fluidity of the read. Any citizen of the given language that reads regularly would immediately notice a discomfort by the slightest shift in standard spacing.

The Trailer

Typeface is as uniquely researched and crafted as the spacing sensitivities. When dissecting each character, the linear relationship and exaggeration of each part relative to the rest of the word and/or sentence has an impact on the viewer, or, if more involved, the reader.

The iconic value of the nuances embedded within our written language, from concept to deployment, revealed by this documentary along with the machines that made the production possible.

As inherent concern with the exterior message naturally trumps the relevance of any reflection on design and development behind the characters that we use on a daily basis; still an emotional, mental and visual impact is made as often as they are used.

Regardless of our now and still growing digital world, this analog craft continues to leave its mark in full. TYPEFACE, the documentary provides insight into the science, art and design that has shaped and continues to shape our communication vessel, within the written environment.

Conceptual Design, Creative direction

With its central Manhattan location on 51st street between 2nd and 3rd avenue The Pod Hotel is convenient in location, accommodations and prices. It compromises in neither style nor amenities with its rooftop access, mod lobby, and fun, young atmosphere. The hotel offers rooms for any type of traveler; from the townhouse pod to the bunk pod this hotel accommodates all. While being high tech, and high fashion, this hotel is not high in price. The Pod Hotel presents a total convenience package for any New York City explorer.

When Indigo was asked to create a pamphlet presenting the Pod Hotel. The main design focus became the handiness characteristics of the hotel, handy in cost, handy in location and handy in room variety. Indigo designed a brochure that condenses all the information visitors should know about  hotel, showing the variety of rooms available, and the included amenities.

The pamphlet collapses to become a small cell phone size booklet that is not a burden to take with you. It can easily fit in your back pocket! The design is simple, youthful and visually encompasses the interior design aesthetic and branding that exists throughout the hotel.

They’ve done some great work and their client list reads as a who’s who in the aforementioned industries.

When NJFPR asked us to create a “leave behind” marketing print piece, we jumped at the chance. After exploring a few concepts that spoke to their brand and core industries, we thought it would be interesting and fun to incorporate those door hangers that you see every time you stay in a hotel (eg. Do Not Disturb, Please Clean Room). The idea is for clients and potential clients to use them in their offices, thus becoming a constant reminder of NJFPR and their services.

Helvetica is probably the most recognized and most widely used typeface in the world. On one hand, this ubiquitous font can be impactful and strong, while on the other, it represents everything about minimalism. Take a walk around New York City, or really any other urban (or even suburban!) setting, and you’ll easily encounter some form of the Helvetica font at least two dozen times.

Believe it or not, there’s even a feature-length independent film about this iconic font. Helvetica, a documentary by filmmaker Gary Hustwit, examines typography, graphic design and global visual culture, and the proliferation of Helvetica specifically “as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives.” While the content of this film may not be a revelation to many designers who know and love the font, this film will definitely surprise and entertain the rest of us who don’t work in the graphic design field. Check out the trailer here:

Whether we know the name or not, many of us have a personal favorite of the Helvetica family. Indigo’s a bit fan of Helvetica Neue:

One of the more interesting and effective uses of Helvetica we’ve seen lately is Original Music Shirt, a French company (and friend of Indigo!) that makes designer t-shirts. By aligning the Helvetica typeface with well-known song titles, classic lyrics or music-related statements, they’re able to trigger powerful emotional ties. After all, who doesn’t love to show off their musical tastes! Here are a few examples:

The story begins at Jacques Dessange, one of Paris’s most acclaimed
salons where stylist, David Cotteblanche and colorist, Reynald Ricard
met. Their talent and charm quickly catapulted them from stylists to
trainers who traveled the world imparting their styles and techniques.
Still, something was missing…. While working at Frederic Fekkai in NYC,
David and Reynald turned part of David’s apartment into a make-shift salon
where they tended to the tresses of friends who could not make it to the
salon during normal business hours. Soon the duo could not keep up with
the demands for late-night appointments.

RED MARKET was born to fill the void. After all, the city that never sleeps deserves
a salon that doesn’t either.

Offering authentic Parisian patisseries, Ceci-Cela has expanded beyond its charming storefront in the heart of SoHo into a full-range online wholesale operation. Ceci-Cela’s culinary creations have resulted in a consistently resulted in an outstanding satisfaction rate, high return customer rate, and an ever growing consumer base.

Ceci Cela Logo

Ceci-Cela’s vast new wholesale operation enables the patisserie to now provide for large order pastry options such as croissants, pain aux raisins, fraisier, or tarte aux pommes and other creations for any business looking to carry our product, or individuals with custom requests.

Business Collateral

Indigo was delighted to rebrand New York City’s famous Ceci-Cela Patisserie. Their new identity needed to reflect the recent growth Ceci-Cela had accomplished and change accordingly. We worked with Ceci-Cela using flash animation to introduce some of the key figures in responsible for the success of the patisserie such as Chef Laurent Dupal, introducing the establishment as an almost factory like setting in production couple with the attention and craft given to each creation that is so characteristically fundamental of traditional Parisian pastry.
